Online Tech Taster: Surveytech
The first in our Online Tech Taster sessions - Kyle Skelson from Surveytech demonstrates 3D Scanning and Thermal Imaging
On the 7th of July join us live for a demonstration from Surveytech on the Matterport Pro 2 3D camera and a selection of thermal imaging cameras (online ticket option available).
Surveytech is a small company based in South London. They supply a range of instrumentation to both the construction and surveying industries. Established for over 10 years, they have a wealth of expertise to draw on and are able to offer technical advice on the best equipment to suit the needs of a company. Last year we interviewed Director Matt Lacey, who gave us an overview of what Surveytech offers:
“We offer a broad range, anything that you would use for surveying. From cameras that you put down in pipes to record drainage, cable locators and rotating lasers, and total stations – which are the mainstay of any site engineer – plus GPS/GNSS receivers, so they can get their location.
“Recently we’ve been delving into some more cutting-edge technologies. So, things like ground-penetrating radar and laser scanning. We also offer the expertise that supports our customers.”

Technologies Being Demonstrated
At our lunchtime online event Surveytech's Technical Sales Manager Kyle Skelson will be demonstrating two exciting products, and answering your questions about the instrumentation Surveytech supply and hire out.
Matterport Pro2 3D camera
The Matterport Pro2 3D camera is the gold standard for professional 3D capturing, with a camera quality of 134 Mega Pixels that can also take 4K quality photos from the original scan.
The Pro2 3D camera allows anybody to turn their space into an accurate and immersive digital twin that can then be measured, shared, and customised by either you or your team. The Matterport capture app is free to download and can be used on either IOS or Android so regardless of your tablet/smartphone you can get scanning with the push of a few buttons.
Infrared Thermography is the process of accusation and analysis of thermal information from non-contact thermal imaging devices. This technology has many applications in the building industry from electrical panel inspections to missing insulation in buildings. Kyle will give a brief talk on the science and applications of thermography and explore a few different camera options.
Kyle will be demonstrating live form the I-Construct Innovation Hub in Braintree, Essex. We will Livestream the demonstration to our members via Teams. Please register for your online ticket.
