EVENTS EXPIRES TODAY

Procurement Support | The London Resort and its supply chain

Event: 23 Sep 2021 / 23 Sep 2021 - 12:00 - 13:00

At this event Robert Edge will be welcoming our speakers Andy Martin, Director of Communications and Strategy at London Resort Company Holdings and Ellie Evans, Partner at Volterra who is supporting LRCH on supply chain engagement amongst other things.

In their presentations you will learn:

  • What the London Resort development is all about and how it plans to become the most visited theme park in the UK
  • How the London Resort will encourage local SME suppliers to become part of its supply chain and what it expects from them.

Who is this event for?

All I-Construct members are welcome to attend. The London Resort is keen to encourage local SME’s to become part of its supply chain and opened a web portal last month for companies to enter the details which they will share with their Tier 1 contractors https://londonresort.info/suppliers

Background

The London Resort will be the largest theme park to be built from scratch in Europe since Disneyland Paris opened in 1992.

It will be built on 413 acres of brownfield land, the majority of which is on the Swanscombe Peninsula in North Kent, capitalising on both rail transport via Ebbsfleet International Station as well as a ferry terminal on site for waterborne visitors travelling from Tilbury and Central London. The development will also include the construction of onsite housing for some of the resort staff, hotels/conference facilities, a water park and various other attractions. Because of its location, the development will also make use of the River Thames for the delivery of materials during construction. Sustainability will be an important part of the development both in terms of its construction and operations.

Due to its size and economic impact, London Resort is the first leisure development ever to be classed as a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project, meaning the Government and not the local council will decide on its planning application. The application was submitted on 31st December last year.
